Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research

One of India's top medical institutions is the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER). JIPMER is accredited by the Medical Council of India and was founded in 1964 on its present Puducherry site. According to the NIRF Ranking 2023, University is the 5th best medical institute in India. The Indian government has recognized it as a "Institution of National Importance." The most sought-after undergraduate programme at JIPMER Puducherry is MBBS. The institute offers DM/M.Ch. at the Super Specialty level and MD/MS/MDS at the PG level. National entrance exams like NEET UG, INI CET, and INI SS are accepted for admission to JIPMER. University offers MPH, B.Sc., M.Sc., and B.Sc. Nursing as its primary paramedical courses and the University Campus occupies 195 acres of land. There is another University campus in Karaikkal.
